What is off-page SEO?
Off-page SEO develops a business's presence beyond its own website through relevant links, independent references, digital PR and accurate listings. DigiMSM focuses on credible opportunities that make sense for your audience, supported by useful content and transparent reporting rather than a domain-score target alone.
A good fit: For businesses with a credible offer and useful website content that need stronger visibility in their industry or market.
What is included
Build the story. Find the right audience.
The opportunity starts with your expertise and the people it can help. We review existing links, understand the competition and choose an outreach approach that fits your business.

Review referring pages, destinations, anchor context and historical patterns. Identify useful links, broken references and issues that warrant a closer investigation.

A qualified prospect list and content opportunitiesDigital PR & expert contributions
Develop relevant stories, original findings and expert commentary. Pitch appropriate editors and journalists with material useful to their audience.
Agreed pitches, outreach activity and response trackingAssets people can reference

Documented reclamation opportunities and outcomesRelevant publisher outreach
Evaluate guest contributions and resource-page opportunities for audience and editorial fit. Separate earned coverage from paid promotion and record the distinction.
Publisher vetting and transparent placement detailsLocal & industry citations
Choose directories and professional listings that are relevant to the business. Correct factual inconsistencies and avoid counting irrelevant submissions as progress.
A listing record with consistent business informationCoverage & referral reporting
Record live referring URLs, destination pages, dates and link attributes. Evaluate relevant referral visits, brand discovery and business outcomes alongside search performance.
A report that distinguishes outreach from published coverageEditorial standards
Clarity about how a reference is earned.
Publisher independence and a transparent record matter more than an attractive score. We make the type of opportunity clear before you commit.
Earned coverage & paid promotion
An editor decides whether a story is useful and whether to include a link. We report that decision as it is, including nofollow, sponsored or other link attributes.
Paid promotion is a separate commercial arrangement. It needs an agreed purpose, suitable disclosure and appropriately qualified links.
Careful backlink investigations
A tool calling a link toxic is a starting point for review, not an instruction to remove it. We examine evidence and the history of the site before recommending action.
Google says most sites do not need the disavow tool. Its use can affect search performance and requires a specific, justified scope.
SEO + AEO + GEO
Make your expertise easier to discover beyond your site.
Generative search can draw on information from many sources. Useful third-party coverage and consistent business facts expand where people can learn about you. We connect off-page research with AEO and GEO content so your public reputation supports what your own website says.
- Relevant coverage with clear attribution
- Consistent business names, services and facts
- Reference-worthy research and expert explanations
A mention or backlink does not guarantee an AI recommendation. We separate observed citations from assumptions about how a particular system selects its sources.
How it works
See the work from research to reporting.
A clear scope, a reviewable change log and the evidence needed to decide what comes next.
- 01
Review the starting point
Assess your existing references, key landing pages and relevant competitors. Confirm the audience and subjects you can speak about credibly.
- 02
Choose the opportunity
Agree useful assets, target publications and the outreach scope. Define how sponsored opportunities, if any, will be handled.
- 03
Pitch & contribute
Prepare relevant pitches and contributions. Track replies and publication decisions, and keep you informed about the work in progress.
- 04
Verify & learn
Check live placements and their context. Report link attributes and useful referral activity, then use the evidence to guide the next outreach cycle.
Reporting & evidence
Measure relevant coverage, not just a rising score.
We agree the baseline, data access and reporting cadence. Missing data is labelled so a reported action is not mistaken for a measured result.
| Area | Evidence | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Activity | Qualified prospects, pitches, replies and asset development | Shows the work completed even when publication is still pending. |
| Published references | Live URLs, relevance, placement type and link attributes | Distinguishes editorial coverage, sponsored content and directory listings. |
| Business contribution | Relevant referral visits, enquiries and search trends | Treats third-party authority scores as context rather than Google metrics. |
Ask to see an example of the reporting format and the evidence relevant to your proposed scope.

Before you decide
Off-Page SEO, answered.
Practical answers about scope, expectations and the way we work.
Do you guarantee a certain number of dofollow links?
No. We agree the outreach and content work, and report the placements actually achieved. Publishers control editorial acceptance and link attributes; search engines control indexing. A guaranteed dofollow-link count would obscure those dependencies.
Is a high Domain Rating enough to judge a website?
No. Domain Rating is a third-party metric, not a score supplied by Google. We also consider topic relevance, the audience, editorial quality, the actual linking page and whether the reference is useful in context.
How do you approach paid placements?
Earned coverage and paid promotion are recorded separately. Any paid placement requires an agreed purpose and budget, with appropriate disclosure and link qualification. Paying to pass ranking credit is not presented as editorial outreach.
Will you disavow every backlink marked toxic by a tool?
No. A third-party risk score alone is not a reason to disavow a link. Google's guidance says most sites do not need the disavow tool. We investigate evidence of link schemes and manual-action risk before discussing a carefully scoped intervention.
Can you guarantee that link building has no penalty risk?
No agency can guarantee how a search engine will assess a website. We focus on relevant editorial work, avoid link schemes and make the placement record transparent so you can evaluate the approach.
Can off-page SEO help with AI visibility?
Relevant third-party coverage can make information about your business available in more places. That supports broader discovery, but a backlink or mention does not guarantee that ChatGPT, Gemini or another system will cite or recommend you.
When should I expect results from outreach?
Research, pitching and publication have different timelines. We agree activity milestones and report responses and live coverage as they happen. Search visibility and enquiries depend on the wider site, the market and subsequent discovery, so there is no fixed ranking deadline.
How much do off-page SEO services cost?
DigiMSM's starting prices are $100 per month for Starter and $300 per month for Authority, with custom Enterprise engagements. Scope is based on research, content and outreach requirements. Any publisher fees are discussed separately.
